Let’s work together to give every baby the strongest start possible.

Every staff member has a responsibility to educate parents on safe sleep.

Through completing the four steps with every family and reinforcing safe sleep best practices before discharge, we can ensure parents leave the hospital equipped with the necessary knowledge and resources to keep their baby safe.

Your dedication to this initiative makes a real difference in preventing sleep-related infant deaths in central Ohio.

In collaboration with central Ohio’s four major hospital systems, the “Dream Big with Safe Sleep” campaign raises awareness about infant mortality and preventative sleep practices.

We need your help to ensure you’re completing four key steps with parents and caregivers before discharge:

1. Asking about a crib in the home – and directing to resources for free or low-cost options if there is no crib for the baby

2. Showing the Safe Sleep educational video produced by CelebrateOne, central Ohio’s public/private initiative to reduce infant mortality

3. Providing an educational door-hanger that parents and caregivers can reference to reinforce safe sleep practices at home

4. Supplying a sleep sack for infants to wear when sleeping during the colder winter months

Thank you for your commitment to the Dream Team and safe sleep education. Let’s work together to give every baby the safest start possible.
