In 2023, Franklin County hospitals provided more than $1 billion in Hospital Community Benefit. Hospital Community Benefit is a set of activities and initiatives that nonprofit hospitals undertake to improve the health of the communities they serve. Recognized Community Benefit activities include charity care, community health improvement services, research, health provider education and initiatives to address our community’s most critical health care needs.
November 2024 – Franklin County hospitals have seen a 93.1% increase in total uncompensated care since the State of Ohio expanded Medicaid eligibility in 2014.
