In July 2024, patients placed on the Franklin County Psychiatric Bedboard who presented in an emergency department and were in need of an inpatient psych bed had an average length of stay of 3.7 hours.
That’s down from 5.0 hours in July 2023 and 8.8 hours in July 2022, and is the shortest length of stay since the inception of the Bedboard in 2009.
